You can beat Capra 100% of the time if you're not a faggot. If you stand still when you enter the room, only Capra + one dog will attack you. Block Capra's first attack or dodge sideways (not forwards into the room). Kill the first dog, THEN sprint towards the stairs and kill the second. The only reason people die at this boss is because they try to run up the stairs when both dogs are still alive.
A similar tactic works against Nito btw, if you stay right by the doorway and don't go any further into the room only like two or three skellies get aggroed.
Anyway I hate when people call Capra a poorly-made boss, it's clear that the combination of the dogs, small room, and stairs is a VERY deliberate choice. Any one of those elements would be trivial if they were isolated, but in tandem they encourage a very particular tactic. You can dislike the boss if you want but it's stupid to say that it's random nonsense thrown together to be annoying, when actually in terms of its layout it's one of the most well thought out fights in the whole franchise. Not that hard considering most bosses take place in giant empty square/circle arenas.

I think people would have a lot less grief about Capra Demon if it was possible to look at the room from outside and formulate a plan in safety. With most bosses in the game you at least get the chance to observe their moves from a distance when you're fighting them and work out what's going on, and as long as you don't try to actually attack them, most of the time it's incredibly easy to not die.
On the other hand the sheer panic of fighting Capra when you don't know what you're doing will throw you off every time, and if you don't get a grip you'll die in probably under 10 seconds unable to do anything. But obviously panic is what the developers intended when they made it so I don't think they can be faulted for it. At the end of the day, once you know what you're up against he's just as simple as any other boss.

You don't know much at first and you have to dig into some shit to really find out later, but the gist of it that you're getting strung along by phony legends made to lure undead into sacrificing themselves to prolong the Age of the Gods. You're getting played by a very small conspiracy group that set up some legends to sucker fuckers like you into thinking they're the chosen one.
