Why do people jizz over this game's soundtrack so much? It's awful. If we're speaking purely in terms of melody and progression it's alright, but most of the instruments are just high-pitched electronic screeches. It's headache-inducing.

It has a few really impressive songs that your complaints just don't apply to.
As for the rest, the 'alright' parts as you put them are iconic and simple enough to be repeated. Mimiga village comes to mind. It's just fun to whistle.
