I think there's still hope for him. He produced Tropical Freeze and that game was fucking fantastic, but it might have been a fluke given the rest of his recent track record.

Metroid had already been damaged by Sakamoto himself who made a lackluster main entry. Federation Force looked like it was the final nail in the franchise's coffin, but it ultimately turned out to be just an unfortunately-timed average spinoff released right before more main entries. I don't see how he could fuck up Prime 4 given his great track record with the Trilogy.
