Will video games one day surpass movies as a form of visual storytelling?
The WItcher 3 was released in 2015 so that's already happening

I love Yennefer.
As soon as Hollywood rejects like David Cage stop writing for the medium sure.

I hope that never happens.

Why not?
Yes but David Cage will not be involved in it.

Want this chick the model Android from that concept movie from years and years back?

Looks like her. Wonder if the short film is related

Yes. That was a tech demo.
David Cage decided to turn it into a full game that is now called Detroit: Become Human.

No because protagonists always struggled with being Mary Sue's and lately we've got tons of feminazis and token characters who make it even worse.

She was hot on The Following.
The problem is you think visual storytelling is videogames primary stregnth, when it is interactive storytelling.
Interactivity is the one thing videogames have over all other mediums.

Visual storytelling is not what games should focus on in the first place. Storytelling through the gameplay mechanics and player agency is a far more interesting - and more difficult - form of storytelling that is infinitely more impressive when done well.
Too bad that developers currently either have no idea how to do that, or they just don't even try.
Recent example is Nier Automata and 9S death scene vs the ending to MGS3

That depends on how much a video game has to be like a movie in order to deliver a story. I feel like they tried that with Quantum Break with the whole episodic live action shit. I didn't start to enjoy that game until I started skipping the live-action scenes. The game itself (including the cutscenes) were fine on their own.
Never
Too commercialized, and appeal to the lowest common denominator possible

Not with "writers" like David Cage. It will continue to have Asylum-tier flickgames.

Cool if it's true and her origin stays the same. Considering that demo came out in 2011, that's quite a development.
