I wanna be mostly combat focused because I heard there's some encounters that can't be talked or stealthed around later. How viable is doing an exclusively magic-based run? I think last time I played it was as a Brujah and the combat seemed to just be eating Celery and spamming left click until I won. Combat systems like that in RPGs usually indicate that mages will have a way easier time of it and I love OP magic

It's not MP, it's blood points but I suppose that's functionally the same. It doesn't naturally regenerate, but you have a ton of options there. First, you can feed on rats in alleyways and in the sewers. Next, you can feed on bums, prostitutes and anyone too close to a dark alley to be spotted. After that, hit up clubs and use high Seduction to get free feedings from the sluts in there. And failing all that, you can buy blood from the blood bank to carry around with you.

But all that's sort of moot for the Tremere. Your very first Thaumaturgy power is stealing blood from your enemies.

And it's great being able to skip combat skills with Thaumaturgy because none of the other Disciplines do that. With Celerity, you're just moving fast, but you still have to hit them which means using weapons. And Potence is all well and good, but it's just augmenting the strength of your existing Brawl/Melee. Any build outside Thaumaturgy still requires spending points on both Disciplines AND combat skills.

You're right, but that was only after they had first turned vampires. The original blood that turned them was some tzimisce, which made the inner circle around 6-9th gen I believe. Only when they realized they were weak against vampire reprisals did they start diablerizing salubri. But how does that even work? Usually vamps diablerize other vamps within their same clan, but do you absorb powers if you diablerize cross-clan?

Forsaken lost appeal to me when they added the power to make new werewolves by biting humans in 2E. Sure, there are drawbacks to it but werewolfism was always a hereditary blood thing and why wolf-blooded. Same shit with making Ghost Children a non-issue in 2E so werewolves can now fuck and procreate no problem. I don't like either of these steps because A) they relaly lend themselves to two stories and that's it ad B) it's obvious dilution of what Werewolf was by pandering to people who don't really want to play Werewolf as envisioned.
