I played through the entire thing. You can do a lot with the combat actually but it's very easy to pull off endless strings, all the satisfaction is gone due to the lack of challenge. On top of it being 20% slower in general. I thought of droping the game at least 3 times but i finished it. The final fight was actually decent and the best part of the game. It felt like a DMC game, honestly. You can't completely fuck up a dante vs vergil fight. It's a 5.5/10 game m aybe even a 6. Even the OST is good in the final boss. The worst area/level out of any DMC game though was the Disco/Nightclub thing. Jesus christ that was a rock bottom 0/10 in gaming if i ever saw one.

The reason DmC gets shit on is because of how fucking autistic the marketing team was about NuDante, considering the Devil May Cry fanbase is a bunch of edgy manchildren butthurt about their husbando having a different hair color.

Mechanics wise, DmC is probably the third best Devil May Cry game, depending on how much you liked 4. The marketing team were dickheads, especially with how cocky they were about their changes and patronizing they were to the autistic fans, but if it was a standalone game not called Devil May Cry, you absolutely have to admit it would have been significantly better received.

TLDR - DmC wasn't bad, but it WAS poorly marketed and it WASN'T a reboot anybody wanted. Should have been a new IP, because holy fuck the DMC fanbase is full of autistic screechers.
