Ben Heck, HW extraordinaire, just BTFO Nintendo for life
He also create a new analogue attachment in the process

lol what a node
>>381074782
I tried the Switch at a friend's house and yeah, the analogue sticks were fucking trash.
>>381074782
Objectively wrong. Clearly he never examined the Ouya joysticks
>>381075065
>ouya
>major
I always replace my sticks for metal ones from ebay. Don't let the $1.75 per pair price tag fool you, they're really comfy and more importantly, never get sticky unlike rubber ones.
Pic related.
Can you do this with the Switch? If not then I'm not buying until Nintendo literally corners me by releasing a mainline Pokemon game.
>>381075151
watch the video
Ben is pretty surprised looking at how the sticks work on the switch
it is not standard at all
>>381074782
>>381075219
>give me views!
Nah. It doesn't matter what some autist on youtube thinks. The controller works, who gives a shit?
>>381075349
use adblock
who cares
the guy is pretty much setup for life anyway
at least you are giving views to someone who really has talent
>>381075151
feels good
I'm watching animoo right now I literally can't be bothered to watch the video.
How hard is it to take apart AND reassemble the Switch? If I ever get one I'm spray painting the shit out of it, the default colors are terrible.
finished mod, for anyone interested
This makes me glad I'm playing BOTW in 4K on my PC with a DS4 controller.
>>381074782
Joycon sticks? Yeah, they're pretty shit. The pro controller sticks are nice as fuck, though.
>>381075151
>get sticky
Only controller I had do this without someone spilling something on them was the DS3.
Would probably do something like this to my joycons when I get a Switch though, just because I want white sticks and buttons for my own personal autism.
And that's why you should never boy first model of a console
>>381074782
>people with gorilla hands
>>381075701
>DS4
I fucking hate that shit. If you've got it plugged in, fair enough, but wireless, the connection is god awful. If your fingers even grace the presence of the light bar, you hust lose all control.
>>381075151
I have a pair exactly the same and I didn't really like them.
They're too slippery, I managed to play BB alright with them but I'd prefer some quality rubber sticks.
Apparently Xbox one sticks fit inside ds4s so I'd rather get those if I were to do it again.
>>381075861
I'm holding out for Nintendo to do better with the hardware design of the inevitable Switch XL before I get one
>>381075830
My DS3 has been just fine for almost ten years, but my DS2 gets sticky as fuck.
>>381076064
I'm hoping for a Switch mini personally, an actual handheld without the detachable joycons that's still dockable.
Basically a Nintendo Vita I guess.
>>381075890
>being a manlet with baby hands
lmao
>>381074782
I'm thinking about getting a pro controller and making a clip for the tablet. Not sure if it will be good to handle because of the weight.
>>381077564
It won't.
Even a 5.5 inch phone clipped onto a gamepad is shit because of the weight.
If your analog stick gets sticky all that is is absorbed oil from your hands just grab a paper towel and rub that shit off and you are good.
>>381076818
How can it be smaller and still fit in the dock? It must be at least just as large as it already is.
>not just waiting for Switch XL Pro SP Lite
>being this much of a trendfag
Gonna buy the switch when they iron out the kinks and a pile of games for below 50% rrp from some guy who needs money to pay the rent.
For now, I play the waiting game.
>>381077696
I clip my LG G3 to my DS4 and its completly fine. Maybe youre just a women.
>>381074782
>somebody who only has to focus on replacing ONE component of an individual unit with no repercussions can do a better job than a company who has to juggle every single aspect of said hardware and worry about price and availability
Yeah, no fucking shit Sherlock.
>>381077696
My other plan is just to use a tablet holder for desk/car and mount it on the side of my bed. It will look really autistic though, I'll have to take it out every time I have guests.
>>381074782
mad gay
>>381078360
How do you worry about price, make a far shittier console than your competition and still charge more?
the whole detachable two player controls is a really good idea, but it has borked the design of the controllers so much
they are not good 1p controllers, but they are not good 2p controllers either
the revision will be glorious
>>381079481
Don't think they'll go back on their joycon design.
If anything, we'll see 3rd party joycons with proper dpad and analog stick offset.
>>381079661
I always tought the simetric design is not a bad idea
[stick buttons]
[buttons stick]
equally spaced
but i guess then you get into grip issues
>>381074782
Literally who?
>>381079305
Sony and Microshaft take a loss on the nose for every PS4 and Xbone sold, which they make back in licensing fees with every copy of every game sold.
Nintendo doesn't have a vast multibillion dollar company backing their financial endeavours so they need to sell every console at a profit, while reducing production costs as much as possible to make it remotely competitively priced.
>>381079717
>Ben Heck
>who
lad
Ben Heck is the true king of HW hacking
he's been doing portable versions of home consoles for easily 10-12 years
his youtube gig is just a pet project for him
>>381075890
>being a fucking girl
lol kys
>>381079768
No, they don't.
>>381079802
Never heard of him
>>381075349
It's more that because they cheaped out with carbon trace potentiometers they'll start failing much quicker.
>>381080309
>>381080309
this is the stuff Ben Heck is famous for
we are talking 2004 here....
>n64 portable
>>381080772
So basically guy is slamming console insides into some custom plastic cases?
>>381081031
hello newfriend
>>381081031
you make it sound simple
