As far as western fighting games go, it's the only one to get it "right"... but even still, the combo system is bizarre. The model they went with for the game's release was also really dumb. First it was a console exclusive game, then it was episodic then they brought it to PC, but only through that W10 store cancer. Everyone has forgotten about it by now and anyone who didn't no longer cares.

KI coming to Steam is probably the best thing the game could ask for. Considering every other significant fighter on PC is also on Steam (SFV, KOFXIV, GG, Tekken, etc.), the competition will be stiff.

It does since in KI, people are unpredictable with your combos and thus most of the time people don't combo break. They only do it on reaction to an animation, which is usually a heavy attack. New players spam combo breaker and get locked out too, so the enemy gets to do their full combo in lower level of play often too.
