Does anybody on this board give the slightest shit about this what so ever?
There's no threads on it, I've not seen any threads on it.

I bought this and I'm not exactly sure what mindset I'm supposed to be playing this game with.
The way in which you're punished for death makes me not really want to explore much.
I can't even say with any confidence that I know what the purpose of the game is. I assume it's to look for your family.
Am I supposed to be finding upgrades or anything? Am I always supposed to be pushing forward as fast as possible?

There are no upgrades, but there are occasionally items that work like temporary upgrades. Spears are the obvious example, but you'll eventually find things like exploding plants, and worms small enough to carry that summon giant lizards when you abuse them.

The ultimate goal is to find your family, but right now my goal is just to kill one of everything.
