I see the opposite happen more often. Personally, I don't see the problem behind either system. Whenever anyone calls it MMO combat, I'm reminded of the only two MMOs I've played: Runescape and Maplestory, neither of which had such combat

here's a real answer you retard

there's side and back attacks in XC within the first 10 minutes. so there's an actual point in positioning and makes tanks play differently from burst characters. FF12 was sitting around letting the gambit do the work while you read a newspaper.

FF12's combat is definitely better

I like both of them. I was excited to play Xenoblade Chronicles cause I heard some things were similiar to ff12. Xenoblade improves things and, I love the areas but I prefer ff12's hunts and sidequests to the shitty sidequests in Xenoblade. I hate mmo tier quests.
