it really did look way too much like God Eater looks wise, which is a shitty and criminally overrated series. But I'm cautiously optimistic anyway.

Fucking duh. The base combat in Souls is basic as all hell. The approach of combat in Code Vein is a copypaste though. It goes above and beyond "Oh, they're just using a basic combat structure"

I get that I look super salty but I stopped liking Souls games after DeS and seeing them have such an influence on ARPGs and the community surrounding them makes me livid.
