It is surprisingly really fun. I bought it after messing around with one of the testfires for a bit to pass the time till Splatoon 2.

I hoenstly really really really want ARMS characters to show up in other Nintendo games now like Mario Kart. I want to race with Helix and MinMin.

Odyssey, BotW, Splatoon 2, and ARMS are going to validate my Switch purchase at this point before it's even a year old. Buying a OneX also this is looking to be a fantastic year for me.

Keep one arm in when you throw one out. If you stun or paralyse the opponent, go for a grab or throw out the arm you kept in.
Don't grab spam.
Mix up blocking with dashes.
Who do you main? Try and take advantage of their special ability. For example, with Ribbon Gril you want to focus on being aerial because of her mid air jumps. But remember to mix it up with dashes and going straight to ground otherwise your opponent will find out your pattern and punish you.
If you haven't found a main, hop into party mode and try out different characters. Grand Prix isn't a good place to start if you haven't played the testpunch at all.
And if you feel you like a particular character but don't like their starting arms, try them out again later on once you unlock new arms for them.

Stay calm, practice curving in each direction in a way that feels most comfortable. Then.try practicing curving in sequence in such a way that you avoid accidentally grabbing. I know that when I'm.playing motion controls, if I'm using an arm like say the Dragon cannon, I purposely sometimes keep my own arm extended for however long the arm in the game stays extended, bringing my rl arm back when it does. Helps me mentally sometimes even if it does nothing mechanics wise

Beat Lv. 4 Grand Prix with everyone and their default ARMS. I want to challenge myself with something, but I'm not sure if it's even possible.
