I think his reasoning was Blunt for skeletons, Long Blade for everything else, and hand-to-hand for when your weapons break. Realistically Long Blade is the only melee hit chance skill you should ever use unless you want to gimp yourself for flavor, since skeletons are weak to begin with and you'll never need to bring out your fists as long as you keep a spare katana. But at least the ones he chose do have their niche where they could be potentially useful.

Daggerfall Unity is still undergoing active development with updates on the blog every month or so. It'll get there in the end if the guy making it doesn't go MIA for years like the DaggerXL guy did.

I remember back in 2012 or so Lucius (the guy who was making DaggerXL) said that a beta version of the game (beta in this case referring to a gameplay-complete version of Daggerfall, before he starts adding brand new shit) would be out by Christmas (which was like 3 or 4 months from when he said that).

So either he's a total lying fuck about the amount of work he needed to do to get the feature-complete beta out for Christmas that year, he's a total dumbfuck for completely miscalculating the amount of time it'd take him (somehow by a margin of many years) or he's just a fucking troll/retard.

You don't need a mod... you can literally configure the controls to play like Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim. You don't need to use grab mode or look mode ever really.

Because he's a procrastinator. He's one of those people who gets enough satisfaction from merely saying he's going to do something that he loses motivation to actually do it. I'm not defending him by any means, but this kind of thing happens a lot and it rarely involves lying about the work involved or pulling a prank; they just have a lot less passion long-term than they thought they had when they announced whatever they were planning to do.

Everything in the game is going to try to paralyze you. High Elves start with an immunity to paralysis, so that will be your best bet. Having a high agility will make you swing your weapon faster. If you're playing a High Elf, give yourself a critical weakness to disease and poison since you have enough magic to cure yourself anyways. Just some things I remembered from an old tutorial.

Went with Immunity to paralysis and 3X intellect. Removed use of Leather & Chain armor (since they each suck) and use of shields (Since you can't use 2h weapons with a shield). Didn't want to go with Altmer due to easy mode.

Empire ending is the de facto ending, since it's what happens if you follow through with everything you were sent there for. Everything else is a betrayal of your emperor and personal friend* Uriel Septim.

The ending that is probably the most "good" is the Underking, since he just wants to be allowed to die and doesn't use it to wreak havoc upon his enemies like everyone else.

*the game actually generates a background for you explaining how you became the emperor's friend, taking into account your answers in the Q&A section of character creation (where you can get the Ebony Dagger, for example).
