The hype behind VR headsets hasn't died. In fact, it's only getting stronger. One would think that all those fictional universes where people dive into MMO games with VR sets would have sparked an interest on an VRMMO by this point, but no such thing has popped up yet.
How come nobody has even announced a VRMMO yet, /v/?

Because it's fucking stupid and VR is a dumb gimmick that will never catch on.

That's besides the point. The holy grail of VR experiences are simulation games and MMOs. We're getting simulation games in VR, but MMOs are absent.
Maybe it isn't financially viable? most MMO are playable on toasters so anyone can play them.
VR is still too expensive for most people, unless they made a MMO that could be played both in VR and in non-vr, but it would kind of defeat the purpose.
