You are not wrong. Music is very under looked. The right music for the game can make the difference between it being able to really suck you in or not. A great game can become really shitty with bad music.

Plus memorable music is really good. A lot of game music is too complex and sounds so much like random background music that you dont even really notice it.

I mean I can remember music from the origonal mario games and final fantasys even though its been 20+ years since I played them but I cant remember a single tune from many games I have played in the last few weeks.
