Path of Diablo is basically a better Diablo II. Unlike most mods / private servers it doesn't completely change the game. It's basically D2 if it'd kept getting genuine updates and adjustments over time.

Still playable for sure.

You might want to check out Path of Exile though. Very good diablo-like game. Takes some getting into, but it's free to play and more modern. Has a big update coming in a few weeks.

Limited res is a pain and at least for me forced me to run it in windowed mode while doing some other stuff. Was fun - looking forward to a proper high res release without all those over the top stuff those wacky modders always add.

Agreed. Always had the best time making my go-to Skelemancer build and just being the all-around most versatile debuffer in the party.

Large skeleton army if partied with ranged/caster classes to keep them alive, Life Tap to quickly heal melee classes, Amp Damage for increased physical damage and breaking 99% of all Physical Immune monsters, Corpse Explosion to clear the screen, Decrepify and Clay Golem to fuck up boss speeds. Top it off with a decently-geared Might merc from Act 2 and you can make your way through anything.
