Aside from a few internet friends, I'm constantly hiding my power level from everyone, yes. Unless you boot my computer and look at my files there's literally no indication I play video games anywhere in my apartment. Even my computer is kind of a toaster I only use to emulate games all day long so it looks nothing like a nerd's battlestation.

It's not autistic to like video games but i do agree with alot of what you've said.

I go out and socialise and don't make my anime/vidya interests the forefront of conversations. I talk like a normal person and have fun and be social. If people ask i'll be honest but won't make a big issue about it.

Pic related is my room. I've had girlfriends and others come into this room and no one bats an eye (If anything people are curious about my shit). The issue is people make a problem that doesn't exist. If i go out and wear anime/vidya shirts, don't make myself look presentable or try and talk about things other than my interests then yes, i'll be deemed a wierdo and rightly so.

There's a large difference between normality and being a fucking sperg. The sad thing is with each passing year more people act autisticly because they believe it's normal and acceptable, when really they're pushing people away based upon a false understanding that being wierd is normal in its own right.

Yeah, I won't deny I play video games. It's not like I'm ashamed of it or anything, but the entire culture is just something I don't want to be a part of. For example, I'll watch the international because I like Dota 2. But if friends are over, I'm turning on the baseball game.

If anything, I just don't like how mainstream video games have become. Not because it's my secret club, but because it leaks my private interests into the public sphere.

I have some few highschool friends that i regularly still see, we always end up talking about videogames or anime at some point, but we never show our true power levels, i know that 3 of us are hiding our real autism level when we are together.

This isn't something you should feel detracts from you but rather showcases the people that detract and ruin your interests. I think that's the point you were getting at anyway but with the mainstream in video games, nothing is actually being achieved to make it mainstream outside of 'Fifa, CoD' etc in the real world outside of the internet. If it is changing it's at a snail pace and the more 'vidya' becomes popular with weebs and unsociable people at that forefront the worse it'll get when it comes to the whole 'social stigma' of people in social situations.

If you made that comment in real life i'd deem you as autistic for looking at it that way, while most normal people would brush it off as a 'wierd interest' or a 'hobby' that isn't relatable too them.

It's not really about the people, the people have always been horrible. It's more now that instead of seeing these people just on a form, where I can laugh and just kind of shit and Google, it's now in my everyday real life.

Piano one is going to say it, but they're going to think it. Honestly, most people are too wrapped up in their own lives to really judge others. However, as I grow older, I'm starting to be a little more self-conscious with how I present myself.

Plus, I'm think I just don't like presenting my nominal interest. These are small hobbies, not my life.
