Futuristic racers are really niche.
Redout is amazing and they're still supporting it with some free updates and as of late they released two 5-track DLCs.
Despite having online multiplayer, the game has an ok AI. Not amazing but it does the job and it's fine to play it singleplayer. You can also play it splitscreen. Also there's the leaderboards to compete indirectly.
If you're into Wipeout or F-Zero or fucking Podracing or whatever, you should definetly buy it.

I don't think it does.
Just gamepad or keyboard. Would be awkward to do with a joystick anyway because you need to strafe. You'd need freaking pedals for that or something.
Although now that I'm thinking about it, that might be a fun input method.
Then play in first person and VR (which the game actually does support).

VERTEX is ok. I like the music and the visuals are good, but the tracks are a bit run-off-the mill for my tastes. There's some tricky turns, but ultimately it brings little new to the table.
I fucking love Neptune DLC, though. The track design around the Zero G jumps is pretty unique.

I bought this game when It came out and enjoyed it, but feel completely jipped when indie devs for games like killing floor 2 are pushing out free content (although not as fast as I'd like them too) meanwhile the redout devs recently started charging for maps which is pretty fucked up considering the game is lacking in content as it is for the fucking price they're asking for.

who cares about Wipeout, it's held hostage on Sony's shitbox
>>
>>380855916
It looks fun but it's really not.
Also the music isn't very good.

WipEout pretty much propelled Sony's consoles up and put competitors to shame with its technological achievements alone at the start of every gen. The franchise was always a console seller since the PS1. Anyone with a brain cares.

Thanks for conceding.

So the verdict is that redout had potential but the devs got greedy and the game fucking sucks now.

Wipeout continues to be the best.

then go enjoy your cheap ass stupid boring ass game with shit music then.

Why do anti grav fags stir up shit every time their games are mentioned? Wipeout and F Zero control completely different anyway. You should just be grateful that such a niche genre has franchises so good that nobody can agree on which one is superior.

Soneiggher everyone.

I agree. Which is kind of interesting because that means there is a different design concept on how futuristic racing would be. There is even X-treme G and that was grounded, none-the-less the different methods of how the vehicles worked.

it's just not as well known as it should be

There's a lot of stuff from the old AG racers that I loved but doubt will ever be seen again, like in F-Zero X just having an entire city in the background of Mute City made the track feel huge to me. Even though it was a limitation it always made everything feel colossal when it was just the track and the skybox.
I also really liked the dark dystopian industrial look of the first Wipeout, especially Altima and Silverstream but I'll probably never see it again in a racing game. Same with the really dark indoors tracks in Wipeout 2097.

Found some random stream on twitch, this game looks fucking awesome.
