Why do video games attract autists? Why Sonic in particular?
I'm not exaggerating either, I recently discovered how easy it is to find these types of people with the right searchwords. Just look up the latest trends and a video game franchise and you're bound to find something incredibly creepy or childlike stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmFklNoh3ZQ
I think it's the whole Sonic Adventure thing of putting Sonic in the real world. Makes those characters even more of special snowflakes. A dumb kid sees that and wants to be part of the Sonic crew. Makes an OC.

why do you care? they have to like something, why is sonic insane?

Because only an autist would unironically rnjoy a bad franchise. When I was around 12 years my autism made me want Sonic and the Secret Rings so fucking badly, only to realize it, it and all the other games are shit.
Sonic's easy. Bright and vibrant, with big eyes and obvious emotions. In fiction, it's not hard to figure out how someone else is feeling and how to relate to them. In real life, people are much more nuanced and confusing.

Autists like blue things that go fast.
Just look at MLP.

Because Sonic is a bad franchise.

OP is the autistic nig in the video. he's trying to advertise here.
Kids like Sonic.
Autists more or less have a child-like mentality and by extention also like Sonic.
However, autists also attach themselves to other properties such as Mario or Pokemon but you hardly ever see people calling that out since it isn't memetic to make fun of those fanbases.
