I remember the end of Assassin's Creed 2 and thinking "HOLY SHIT THIS STORY IS FUCKING AWESOME!", then they literally went fucking no where at all with it.

Wasted opportunity. Writers wrote some cool shit, but they literally had no where to go with it

Same. The end of AC2 was the hypest shit. Brotherhood came and it carried that hype. Me and my friends would speculate that they would make a literal modern AC game with Desmond, but it never happened. By the end of AC3 everybody was just disappointed as fuck.

I've only gone up to Black Flag and the modern plotline is almost non-existent. Also the game is brilliant and I'm replaying it right now, so much better than any of the previous ones really.
