Let's talk about this game for a bit /v/. I got it from Rare Replay a few days ago and I've been having a lot of fun with it. Right now I'm trying to get the Master Romancer Rewards for Raisants and Shellybeans, but it's taking longer than I thought.
I also just got my first Arocknid and my third Sour Pinata, the Mole.
>>
>>380816891
That game is fucking great.
>>
I've decided to try this game today, holy. It's quite amazing, not sure why I've avoided this game for so damn long because how it looked.

I took a break because it's too addicting.

>could have had an amazing Viva Pinata 3 with huge gardens and tons of new pinatas on xbone and w10
>instead we get the boring open world meme survival shitfest that is sea of thieves
I blame each and every one of you for not supporting Trouble in Paradise.
>>
>>380817421
Same. I'm trying to decide if I should stick to a single garden or make a second one for more aquatic pinatas. Can't wait to try the sequel too, decided to get as far as I can in the first game before trying the second.
>>
>>380816891
Is the first one better than the second one? Which one should I play?
>>
>>380817885
Trouble in Paradise is like the first one but better in every way and much more content, damn I really wish they made a third game.

I like the second one better. It's pretty much the same shit with more stuff.

Getting the dinosaur is fun as fuck.
>>
Trouble in Paradise is by far my favorite 360 game.

It's such a shame Rare went to making Kinect games for Microsoft, VP3 would make me acrually cry.

What do you guys want in a third installment?

Personally, I'd like Terraforming, mainly for water to be expanded to freshwater and saltwater sources in order to attract Pinata's.

For example Cocoadile's would require shallow saltwater to be happy, while an angler fish would require max depth saltwater. (Water pinata's would all swim on the surface of course)

Then give me a huge fucking garden, the ability to change weathers in certain areas, and a tool that allows for curved walls and fences, and I'm happy.

I'm playing the first one for Nostalgia, gonna play the second one because Viva Pinata is legitimately fun and I've never played it before. You can get both if you get Rare Replay.
From what I hear, Trouble in Paradise is the same as the first game but much better in almost every single way and tons more shit.

Awesome. I just remembered Variants were a thing after checking the wiki last night.

Open games like this or Warband where you don't have clear objectives always make me feel like an idiot because I'm not sure what to do. I feel much better playing games where I'm clearly told I need to kill Bad Dude.

Any good youtube videos on how you are supposed to play it, if there's a more correct way anyway?
>>
>>380819274
There's no real correct way.
It's a simple " Out of the starting pinata's which one would you like?" Then from there it's just growing your garden and feeling everything out.

If you found a new seed, you can usually tell what it is. By growing it you'll most likely attract a pinata. Don't like it? Stop growing that plant.

P simple game. But very good.
>>
>Trouble in Paradise isn't on PC

I cry everytime
>>
>>380819274
You can play any way you want really. Decide how you want to make your garden, what flowers and Pinatas you want in it, which ones you want to romance, etc.
Like I said in the OP, I'm focusing on getting Master Romance Rewards for Shellybeans, Tafflys, and Raisants right now. I tried getting it for Bunnycombs and Mousemallows, but my Garden was only tier 2 so I had to make a cut.
>>
>>380819274
I usually hate open games but VP struck something with me for some reason.

Master Romancer is straight up not worth your time on anything but Horstachio. Great game, tho.
I always name pic related "Jerry"
>>
>>380823059
You know what, that reminds me. I don't have any idea what you get for Master Romancing anything. What makes Horstachio worth it but not anything else?

Barkbark best pinata.
>>
>>380819274
The main goal if your goal-oriented is to grind points by 1. Making new pinatas appear/visit/reside/romance (each gives points) 2. Get master romancer for each pinata (romance 10 or so times) 3. Find pinata variants (feed them random shit so they change color) 4. Grow each plant once 5. Gorw each plant with fertelizer once 6. Tame sour pinatas
And probably other shit I'm forgetting. Just go down the check list each time you feel lost
>>
>>380823206
Master romancer is just points (or whatever you call the shit that makes you level up) and (in TIP) the ability to ban a pinata from your garden. Master romancing Horses unlocks Chewnicorns.
>>
>>380823606
Damn, I didn't know that. I asked this a while ago, but should I make a second, more aquatic based garden, or just several gardens in general?
>>
>>380823721
Short answer: no. I'd say just get used to the fact you will never have one of every pinata in your garden at once (I think the game literally does not have enough data). With that in mind, a full playthrough will require your garden to go through different stages of vegitation and aquaticism, but having about half grass, 1% dirt, 15% water%, and the rest long grass should get you most pinatas. You can just add more water or whatever as you need to in order to attract pinatas, then change back since I don't think that makes them leave. If you want more water than that, most pinatas don't mind, but you may have trouble finding soace for houses. In general, once you unlock the wishing well for infinite money, there is nothing stopping you from clearing out your garden, reforming it as you want, then refilling it. Multiple gardens would really only slow down your progress and make it harder to unlock stuff you want.
>>
>>380824535
Alright, thanks. You also reminded me that I haven't put down any long grass at all yet, nor do I have plain dirt.
>>
How does everyone usually farm cash? My strategy is to grow carrots and mate whirlms (since they can mate constantly) super early game, then move onto bunnies (since you profit 596 after spending four coins on carrots) until I unlock ponockies and romance candy (about 2000 coins of profit per baby). Then wishing well.
>>
>>380825463
I got an absurd amount of cash last night by planting a few poison ivy plants and selling some of the seeds and flowers from them. They constantly regrow and the seeds are like candy there's so many.

Yup. I've needed it to play both VP and Shadowrun 2007
>>
Nice to see some VP love around here. I honestly think it had the potential to rival and be better than Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon in a lot of ways. The amount of creativity put into the game can't be understated and I've never felt quite as much zen.

Always seemed weird to me it didn't have a strong PC presence though. Seems built for M+KB or Wii U.

This is the only game I play on my xbone which I bought for 4k blurays.

Desert frill wild card limeoceros, with cocoon broken so he stays little.
Made them as "triceratops" for my Jurassic garden.

I 100%'d the game with 3 famous pinatas (1 given by friend, 1 given randomly by dev, and 1 given by Big Sheep for 100%), several neon dinosaurs because of the clone glitch, and the giant zumbug glitch.

One of my all time favorites man.
