Got the game for less than 5USD not long ago, gameplay is actually lots of fun, but having to wait 30 minutes to find a match is what killed it for me.

You can tell that Randy desperately, desperately wants to be rich and famous enough that he can tell people to fuck off, and hordes of gullible fools will rouse to his command and ruin that person's life. He wants fame and power, at least over a small group. He targeted a niche he thought he could have that power over with Borderlands, and continued to target it with TPS and BL2. But he forgot how small the community is for pseudo-MMO cel-shaded FPSes with LOL RANDUM meme humor is, and each game has been adding more and more socjus into the mix to alienate the fanbase even further. He developed Duke Nukem Forever because he didn't understand what Duke is; he thought Duke Nukem was about playing as a sexist asshole in a WACKY world where cops are literal pigs and men can dress like cowboys, and everyone inexplicably loves you, and as a result DNF's tone is fucking jacked up and old fans hated it, while no new fans were attracted because they forgot to make the gameplay good to compensate for the horrid art direction and writing. Battleborn is a fun competitive shooter, it rivals Overwatch, hell. to me it's even better than Overwatch and I'm a dedicated PC gamer.

That being said; I tried it on consoles and it holds up there as well.

I honestly think its asking price is pretty good too, compared to Overwatch.

Mate, I think you've got the wrong idea. You're saying that without context it looks bad.

But even WITH context, it still looks bad. I'm sure someone who plays the game can easily recognize what is going on and ignore any superfluous shit, but that's not an excuse for not making a simple, appealing UI.

So you vomit your eyes out in PvE, which is part of the game. Makes no difference.

Heres a much bigger problem the game has that don't get much talked about: The combat is too slow and too floaty, heroes feel like they all have peashooters that barely do much damage. The average teamfight lasts far too long. A gatling gun does not feel like a gatling gun when it takes fucking forever to kill anything with it.

Compare it to SMITE which is even more MOBA-esque than Battleborn. In that game teamfights generally last 5-10 seconds at most, low health assassins and mages die just as fast as if they were in Overwatch being hooked by Roadhog. And when a game which is more MOBA has faster combat than your supposed "shooter with MOBA-elements", you got some serious problems in your gameplay design.
