Will there ever be a mainstream title that is a trainwreck on the same level as No Man's Sky? I find the whole debacle to be very fascinating.
Despite everything, the price of the game hasn't been reduced since it was released almost a year ago. Just thought I would bring that up.

Spore was just as bad if not worse considering the buildup
It's happened before and it'll happen again

it has. It goes down to $25-$30 regularly. Just because the off-sale price hasn't dropped doesn't really signify shit. Why would you ever drop it when someone who really wants it will pay $60? I know people who still pay full price for GTA5 even though it goes on sale every 2 weeks.

no man's sky wasn't THAT bad. it was everyone else's fault that they bought into promises that obviously couldn't be fulfilled. like seriously? billions of worlds? who would believe that? and though that happened, there were still some people who managed to have fun with the game

I could look past the poor random generated content if the gameplay was even slightly decent (it isn't).
