>AMD is cheaper than NVIDIA

soon all of you will be switching to consoles
>>
that's not their gaymer cards though
>>
>>380781108

In what way?

How is $1.2k cheap? It may be cheaper against NVidia, but how is it cheap in any way still?

These companies should stop pandering to the 3.9% of people who own enough money to buy such an expensive card, and actually focus on staying competitive in the mid range, where most of their sales are.
>>
>>380781562
Innovation is important, though. We kind of rely on that 3.9% of people to keep advancing technology. Besides, this will make the last batch of most expensive cards even cheaper.

>specialized retailers who focuses on workstation/server stuff

probably server gpu shit. $1200 and $1700 is fucking cheap for something like that.

maybe read the picture you downloaded before shitposting
>>
GRAFFIX were a mistake
>>
>>380781108
That's workstation hardware.

But you're right that AMD is more expensive than Nvidia right now. Fucking Ethereum miners.

Nice cherrypicking you got there, Anon. It's either that or you are just plain stupid and uneducated about this stuff.

>>380781779
WOW just $4k for the same 6Tflops XBX has

AYYMD HOUSEFIRES is much more expensive than Nvidia

Only a retard will buy AYYMD garbage
>>
Why don't most people understand these aren't cards intended or marketed towards gamers?
>>
>>380782839
it's okay to be retarded, just try to shitpost somewhere else.

I'm kind of curious, why don't workstations just use the cheaper consumer counterparts? What's the actual difference?
>>
Vega Frontier GPUs are workstation GPUs, same as Quadro and Firepro.
>>
>>380783345
Snake oil
And Nvidia artificially limits some parts of the consumer grade cards. If you're old enough you also might remember the Nvidia Tool that let you put every window at forced focus and other stuff (next to the minimise maximise buttons) that's quadro only now. They're called (((Nvidia))) for a reason
>>
>>380782426
>>380783345
this stuff is meant for pure calculation speed, so they shove a shit load of cores on everything and call it good.

not even the newest titan or gtx 1080ti has this many cores.

and there is no point using it for gaming, it would run like shit.

shit thread.
>>
>>380783221
I know you're baiting but
>the R9 290/x outperform the 970 in games and before this mining shit happened could be found for 140-150 bucks
>the 580 is strictly better than the 1060, now prices skyrocketed because of mining also
>nvidia panicking and releasing a dedicated mining card to take advantage 0f something AMD has been doing for years
its okay to be a shitter anon.

>>380783345
They're designed for straight up computing performance and for use with applications like CAD and stuff. Add to that certified drivers that utilize the cards properly from some of those programs and companies to ensure that it runs properly on the hardware and that's why.

theres tons of results on google that tell the difference more in-depth, but basically Quadro/Firepro are meant for calculations, GeForce/RX are meant more for speed
>>
>>380783828
the titan Z does have a lot but not the black titan
>>
>>380783968
But the european amd marketing division is also marketing to miners too
>>
>>380783968
The only shitter is you, paying $700 for a RX 580 :^)
>>
>>380783221
>AMD is more expensive
>AMDpoorfags

pick one
>>
>>380784284
I have a 290, I literally have no need for any other card higher than this because I'm playing at 1080p.
>>
>>380784063
The Titan Z is a dual GPU card, it cost $3000. It was demolished by the R9 295x2, which cost $1500. It's also several generations old.
TItan > Titan Z >Titan Black > Titan X > Titan X* > Titan Xp

*official name, usually called TItan XP
>>
>>380783345
They have built-in error correction that doesn't exist on the consumer cards. It'll take way longer to render the frames, but you won't get any errors that you often see in real-time rendering.
>>
>>380783345
Drivers.
