It's being funneled elsewhere. Probably sidequests/dialogue snippets/exotic quests/etc. Also the "show lore" button thing. Lore was one of D1's redeeming qualities that kept a large proportion of the playerbase consistently invested in D1 despite its many MANY problems. They can't really afford to fuck this up.

Destiny I was convinced to get both a PS4 and the game by my friends, and they dropped it, but I kept playing because I found it to be fun.
