Yes some apps do it, they don't have to but they do. Even apps that can take phone information can be prevented from doing so without losing app functionality. So yes I chose not to play this game because I do not feel like giving them that permission, that should not prevent the whole game from running. Just shitty development on their part if they're acting like it's an integral function.
