Well I'm not aware of the full dynamic here, but to be honest these fantranslators deserve a lot more credit than they get, from here at least. Could be that they're getting stroked 24/7 on Twitter though, so people vent their grievances here. Perhaps so, but i have personaly seen fan translators get so butt hurt about 1 guy not jerking them off in the comments and they have sperged out and dropped the project. I wish i had an archive of all the fan translator sperg outs.
If they could not act out and give in to people "trolling"(read:disagreeing) with them, i would have more sympathy for them.

Same thing happens in the Manga translator scene. It gets even more petty there.
They "claim" a perticular series, then take years to translate it. Some guy does a speed translate of it so people are not left with nothing. Original Translator spergs out and drops the manga.
