So now that 3D Zelda (BotW), 2D Zelda (ALBW), 3D Mario (Odyssey), 3D Metroid (Prime 4), and 2D Metroid (Samus Returns) are saved, will 2D Mario be saved next?
Will we finally go back to what made World and SMB3 great? Or be stuck with another entry in the "new" series?

I'd like to see a full length 2D mario game that uses the wall mechanic that Odyssey has. All the platforming would be 2D, but the levels could curve around themselves and split in different directions.
