So i am buying my nephew a nintendo 2ds flat for his 8th birthday

it comes with super mario. i will also get pokemon sun and zelda ocarnia of time for him

however i know nothing of monster hunter series. Should i get generations or 4 ultimate ? whats the pros and cons of each ?
