The point is: Ellie's still alive, there's still a chance she can help synthesize a cure in the future, hell maybe the cure is hereditary she could pass it on (not gonna argue about her sexuality here) maybe it turns out there's a old doctor in the next town over who knows everything about the virus and just needs one sample to cure it. Dunno my doggo never went critical. I just assumed you needed an injector to get it's health back. I have about 99. After getting everything in the game credits just build up. Ass Creed. The faster you killed without getting hit, the more scared they'd be. It was especially prominent in 1 if you used the hidden blade, which was an all or nothing since you either got hit or killed them right away via counter.

There's a very good reason for this:

Every second you spend not shooting him as he slowly reaches for his weapon, he becomes more confident that he can turn the tables on you.

The AI is literally programmed to play mind games with you; if you were going to kill him, you would have done it - he's inching towards his backup gun because he knows the only way you'll shoot is out of reaction - he's getting into your head, allowing your mercy to get the better of you so he can shoot you instead.

War is hell.

I dunno, I can't replay dork souls games, the multiplayer was far too shitty to really enjoy and its not that replayable. The good part of being killed was that you didn't know what was around the corner meaning every death was a strife foreward, that magic is lost for me now that I know the games tricks and neat things.

Besides its still a thing about the price and god forbid getting a ps4.
