Primecucks are a sizable amount of Nintendo's purchaser base, and Nintendo needs them alive so they can keep handing over money for more trash. They have realized that the Primecucks will start killing themselves soon so they want to keep them on a leesh so they don't lose Mario/Zelda/Smash/Kart bucks.
