I am 100% sure Rich only liked it out of nostalgia. Playing it for the first time now must be so underwhelming since sci-fi third person cover-based shooters are a diamond dozen now.

Well, I really like Vanquish but he's right.

>game allows you to play it as a cover shooter and it's usually even easier
>the boost goes down incredibly fast, can't use it that much without going back to cover which only encourages the first part (at the very end you get overcharge and it's great)
>level design does not support fast flying around the map, you are blocked by tons of cover and locked arenas, as well as annoying squad mates that you have to wait on

It's very flawed and has a lot of issues that work against the core mechanics.

They're good for movies, not games.

I like hearing Rich talk about films, and I can just about tolerate Jack's appearance onscreen (far more tolerable than Josh)
but I think their opinions on vidya are shit and almost every episode of Pre Rec sees them out of their depth when it comes to analysis of a game
or even worse they dedicate a whole episode to a shovelware game no one cares about and they don't find fun or have anything interesting to say about anyway

Not everyone is as autistic when it comes to this stuff as we are and for me at least, it's nice to sometimes hear opinions from more grounded, casual players. For example I watched SBH's video on BOTW first and he went on and on about how repetitive the game is and how disappointed he was. I was inclined to believe him but low and behold, he was really only talking about a small part of the game.

The Previously Recorded video did mention some points SBH did, but they actually gave a fair look at all the aspects of the game they experienced. It made me actually want to play the BOTW. Different perspectives can be appreciated for different reasons you pleb.
