No one is making you to play on Nightmare mode though. Even devs plain out state that it's simply unfair.

Am i the only one that thinks Doom 2 was better than the first one? The level design made me think a lot more how could i approach a room full of enemies instead of going guns blazing.

It wouldn't be bad if they didn't have the instant fast reflex like they do on Nightmare mode. They shoot the instant they see you. Without that it would still be easy.

Basically to beat Nightmare you have to know the levels inside out (including the positions of hitscan enemies so you can preaim and shoot them when you come out behind a corner) and have your route planned for each level. Gotta go fast too naturally.
