I wouldn't want it to be RTS. Battle for ME 2 was fairly good, but feels kind of shallow when you're just waiting for your ring power to charge up. I'd like to see a deeper game, in the vein of 4X or grand strategy (though please without the usual Paradox nonsense)

Completely agree on your second point. I'm tired of this open-world nonsense, too.
