This year I've had an absolute blast with BotW and Persona 5. I was doubtful anything would surpass these for years.

But then Nintendo came out swinging with the new Xenoblade demonstration (huge fan of XC and XCX) and most importantly; Mario Odyssey.

Just play Super Mario 64 on an emulator or something, you may find some things outdated in it but this game will be expanding upon that formula in a lot of ways from new movement, mechanics like possessing enemies, rolling or throwing the cap, NPCs & objects, areas & etc. If you like 64 then you'll probably like Odyssey a lot.

Trailer makes me think theres 9 moons a level and then 1 super moon making 10. in the trailer hes standing on the Odyssey and is putting 9 moons into the engine. If there is 120 moons you could reason there may be 12 levels.

Nintendo sucks at everything else, but if there's one thing they can do it's great fucking video games. Not looking for console war bullshit here but the games sony show recently bore me to death. God of War and Days gone look so bad, I don't get why people buy these games. It's just slowly walking to the next location.

Loved the look of the Dino world
Mario's new moveset looks odd to me, maybe it's just the animations, but I'll need the game in my hands, hoping for the ever natural and awesome controls of 64 and sunshine though, and since this is according to them in that line I think it'll be there.
I'd like to see more Wario Ware characters and my nigga Dry Bones. Think Dry Bones is a lock given a locale with so much skeletons.
I sure hope it's the next 64.
I think Luigi is gonna be left out.

I (sadly)doubt there's gonna be a hub area to find secret moons in like Peach's Castle or Delfino Plaza so 120 Moons with 10 or less per area seems like at least 12 areas and if they're as fleshed out as I think we're really in for a treat. October can't come any faster.

Has anyone compiled a list of all the Power Moons that have currently been found so we get an idea of how many are in each level? For New Donk City, I've seen the following from watching gameplay footage:
1. Recruiting the drummer
2. Recruiting the bassist
3. Recruiting the guitarist
4. Recruiting the trumpeter
5. Remotely Captured Car
6. Hidden in the girder at the start of the level (Secret Girder Tunnel)
7. Hidden in another girder in the construction area (Inside an Iron Girder)
8. After clearing the platforming challenge you access via the rocket (Hanging From a High-Rise)
9. Jump rope challenge (haven't seen anyone complete it but presumably it gives you a Power Moon)
10. Platforming challenge after entering a doorway (Bullet Billding)
11. Reward for entering a door with the builder's outfit (Rewiring the Neighborhood)
12. There's a shining drain on top of one of the buildings, the player didn't groundpound it although it would have released a Power Moon
13. Floating above a hanging girder quite high up in the city (Swaying in the Breeze)
14-16. Mechawiggler boss battle (Grand Moon - worth 3 Power moons)

Are there any others I've missed?

120-150 grand moons which are "story" related, and somewhere in the 200-400 range for the power moons. Basically, think of Grand Moons like the traditional power stars of 64/Sunshine/Galaxy and the Power Moons like Korok Seeds+. There is no other reason why they have em as separate things, and I definitely think that there will be 20 sandboxes with 10-20 power moons to find and somewhere between 1-7 Grand Moons like the older games.

What I meant by sandboxes is that I doubt each kingdom has only one place, or at least the bigger ones. Cap, Cascade and the Ice Kingdom could each have only one as they are small enough, but Sand, Luncheon, Wood, and Metro are all big enough to have a second world inside em. No way only 1 Kingdom and world is left to be revealed, and 8 is still a very small amount of levels to have no matter how big. They seem big, but the maps in the pause show that in reality they are just really fucking dense.

I've always been extremely against the concept of DLC in a core Mario game, but I feel like if Nintendo wants to expand on this one it would fit fine.
