It's literally Horizon Zero Dawn but with an infinitely more boring setting.

My bet is they were probably developed side by side, with Days Gone meant to be the safe cash-in on the zombies hype train and Horizon to be the more adventurous new IP to test the waters. They play far too similarly for me to believe they were developed completely separately, even down to the animations.

It looks like a ridiculous amount of money is being poured into this game.

Also I really enjoy watching The Walking Dead.

the only things about this game that interests me are the beautiful environments and the large amount of zombies on screen at a time.

I like that the game takes place in a comfy North American forest. Makes it feel like a camping trip with friends and family.

Not enough games have that location.

There are tons of zombie games but they're all shitty thanks to the magical teleporting zombies, exploding zombies, ninja zombies, witches and shit. Days Gone is actually the first zombie games that looks remotely interesting.
