If you've played the original digimon world for PS1 just think of this game as a direct sequel to it. The 2 digimon at the same stuff might take some time to get used to but it actually makes sense once you realize what they were going for.

It was okay but unless you either love digimon and/or the original Digmon World then don't bother. The game became such a chore and starts throwing you all these quests without anyway of tracking them in-game. You basically have to grind it out otherwise you're going to lose every single battle and never progress at all. The ability to upgrade your town was pretty cool though.

There's a digimon in jijimons house that tells you about recruitable digimon in the world. I think it only lists 3 but those are usually 100% recruitable for you. You also only really need to grind if you want to max out stats on your digimon which isn't necessary for anything, not even the free post game DLC.

In order to recruit Digimon C, you need to have Digimon X unlocked, which can only join if you have Digimon M. Most of the game is spent walking past recruitable Digimon, going into areas where both your Digimon can be one-shotted by an average enemy.

It's basically just updated and revamped Digimon World 1, so yes, if you like the resource management heavy virtual pet simulator gameplay, it's good. Otherwise, no. It's much more niche in appeal than standard turn-based JRPG like Cyber Sleuth, but also more unique for it.

The entire point of the original was raising one pet. Digimon isn't a monster collector game, it's a raising game. Instead of making you raise two they should have made the actual raising better.

There's a few ways to manipulate their age and day of death. You could always just neglect one of the digimon so it dies at champion level while the other one reaches ultra. Generally you want to have them like 5 days apart because the younger one gets a boost in stats from training when they are on different evolution levels.

Eventually you recruit LadyDevimon and she sells Devil Chips that reduce the lifespan of your Digimon, so you can resync them if you want.
