Is this game any good? I've heard mostly negative things

>The interaction and relationship between the bros is really endearing (and rightly takes priority over shit-tier love interest)

TL:DR; Has some problems, though as long as you don't assume too much, it can be good fun

It's painfully average, dude, but you probably didn't have 3 years worth of massive hype build up only to be disappointed. You might like it more than I did.

Pros (for me):
>The bantz between the cast was entertaining
>Great art direction
>Good soundtrack
>first half of the game is pretty comfy, just fishing or doing hunts at your own pace
>character techniques in combat is a cool concept

Cons
>shitty sidequests
>combat is serviceable, but lacks a lot of depth and gets tedious easily
>no challenging enemies, weapon variety, or good superbosses
>not a single character except Noctis receives any development
>poor narrative, the pacing of the game in general is rushed
>barren open world

it was my first 3D FF game and i really enjoyed it

I didn't follow it or get hyped up but desu it's the only FF since IX that I've cared enough to finish
