Should I get this, /v/? I loved the first one but I don't know if the second one is as good, it got lower scores across the board.
>Muh magic numbers
What a fucking beta. If you liked the 1st one you'll like this one.
>>380464714
It's worse in every way. PS4 games are soulless cash grabs. They have none of the care and attention that Vita games get.
if you liked the first one, you will love the second one.
its everything the first one is and more. to give you a sense of scale, the entire open world of the first game is found within the open world of GR2 and its a small fraction of it. Combat is better, controls are better, and the plot is more involved and a continuation of the first
its a no brainer for you, specially if youre a fan of the first, i know it was a very hit or miss game
It's better in literally every way
>there are people posting on /v/ right fucking now that take review scores into consideration for buying a game
holy shit
>>380465421
nice bait
>>380464714
Don't get it. You'll be constantly distracted by all the lewd and never finish it.
Someone made a good analogy. It's banjo tooie to banjo kazooie. GR2 is just too fucking big and the side quests are all, ALL, trash
>>380464714
There are awful, just awful forced stealth sections. A lot of missions are boring back and forth between objectives. Most of the side missions I played were horrible (the fucking dog one). Camera is awful and likes to go crazy half of the time, especially indoors or in some boss battles, making some time based missions a nightmare.
But overall it's very fresh and enjoyable for what it is. It looks cute, it is relaxing (when you are no pissed off), it's nice to explore, story is cute. They expanded the gameplay with a lot of new possibilities, fighting styles, side kicks... I liked it. If you really liked the first one you will like this too.
>>380464714
>>380466086
They aren't lying op I've had the game since it came out and am only up to chapter 9 since every time I play it I get to turned on by kat

>>380464714
two is like the first one but better. if you liked one, you will like two
Game has a lot of improvements over the first one but has worse story and all the missions are literally cookie cutter boring piece of shit, only few missions were good.
The biggest quality and care put into the game were those animated 3D cutscenes and the soundtrack.
It's the same as the first game, just improved in every single aspect. Fighting normally is actually viable instead of just Gravity Kicking all day long. Using projectiles is also far more convenient as you don't need to be standing on top of them to pick them up.
About the only real complaint I had about the two games was the difficulty, or rather the lack of it.
>>380469162
>>>Fighting normally is actually viable instead of just Gravity Kicking all day long.
Why use boring normal kicks and punches when You have superpowers ?
>>380464714
Flash sale is likely to be this Friday so at the very least wait until then to decide.

Variety. The 3 Gravity styles also help with it.

>>>Variety.
>>>Using basic kicks and punches when the games give You an all You can eat buffet of superpowers.
Variety is ignoring the gameplay mechanics You don't like ?
>>380470416
Variety is doing more than spamming gravity kicks on targets from start of game to end of game. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to make this any clearer for you.
I couldnt finish if after the remaster

For me it was better than GR1 since it at least gives a conclusion to the story and bosses are far better
Why the fuck aren't either Gravity Rush games on sale right now? There's like 20 pages of games in that E3 sale on PSN then you got that other sale with recent games going for 30% off, neither sales have GR2 or the Remaster.
>>380464714

i really want to play the first game before i get into i but god damn whys it gotta be 60+ bucks for the physical copy of the remaster. all i want to do is play it on my tv on the ps4
I didn't have any hype or wait, I played them back to back for the first time and loved them both, but I liked 2 better. Pretty much felt like the same thing with more, which I was perfectly happy with.
>>380464714
Fun game, but not worth $60. I wouldn't pay more than $30 for it.

Why aren't you buying Kat's game at full price, anon?
>>380476638
You forgot:
>GR1 on Vita 30fps
It's an unformtunate reality, but the truth is that most devs just target 30fps for whatever console they are working on. They did as much as they could with GR1 on the Vita to have it at 30 fps, and then when they went to PS4, they had additional power for a bigger environment and more physics objects, but they still aimed for 30fps.
GR:R was done seperately by Bluepoint, so making that 60fps with mostly the same game is a simpler task
I wish they could have made it 60 fps, but that is unfortuanetly just how nearly all modern games are
>>380473645
>>380469834why is GR2 never on sale?
the physical copy is $60 everywhere

>as Raven approaches the girl she finds Kat with the crotch of her clothing pulled aside peeing while hovering in mid-air
>Kat shocked to find Raven hovering close beside her,"I had to pee, and I told You to wait for me"
>no reply from Raven as she stares at Kat's exposed pussy peeing a heavy stream
>Kat with a confused expression," why are You staring ?" as Kat continues releasing her forceful spiraling stream of pee
>Raven,"You always seem so care free and confident, it's surprising to see You get worked up so quickly"
>Raven pulling the crotch of her outfit aside exposing her pubic bush and pussy
>Kat with a subtle but naughty expression looks over to her," So You need to pee as well?"
>No response from Raven as her face shows a naughty grimace while she releases a forceful fountain of pee from her pussy that sprays outward and into multiple directions while almost soaking Kat's clothing
>As Kat's stream slows to a stop Raven looks over to her," it wouldn't be fair to keep all the fun ideas to Yourself Kat"

>>380482158
I finished 2 recently and I honestly couldn't tell you what the game was about, or the first one for that matter. I just had fun.
>>380481448
Mine too, but Kat's mai waifu and of course mai waifu has the best game. That's just how that works. Honestly though, I do find the aesthetic, characters and mechanics of the GR series to be charming and refreshing, it's very much the kind of game I would fall in love with on its own terms.
>>380486674
This is probably the best Kat statue out there and possibly the best one there will ever be. Kinda wish I had picked it up in retrospect.
>>380486808
GR's narrative is hardly worth checking into. It's the beat by beat character interaction that's memorable, especially with a MC as plucky and carefree as Kat.
>>380487275
Pretty much this. Nothing about the original was that new or creative, just the same kind of mystery the director is known for making like he did with Silent Hill. Granted, SH had more mystery that was subtly built up over 4 games that collectively only revealed enough to make things interesting, but never gave the complete picture. GR is just more care free with its dark and creepy stuff given its more anime-esque tone.
>>380464714
Gravity Rush 2 is good I guess, but it feels like a step back from the first. They shy away from the best aspects of Gravity Rush to have more filler missions with stealth and shit.
>>380479853
>GR2 was $35 used on Amazon like a month or 2 after it's release
>decided to wait alittle longer since I still had other games to play and hoped it would drop lower
>checked a couple weeks ago
>$60 everywhere and no used copies in sight
>mfw I should have just bought it for $35
>>380488582
But there's much more to do, and the side missions actually have some variety now instead of just being races and enemy gauntlets.
>>380488736
Could always check other stores that sell pre-owned. Someone's bound to have it going for a lower price.
Aoki!
>>380488582
In terms of general focus I can see that but there is SO much more to GR2 that despite the overreliance on stealth missions it still feels more varied and interesting than the first in terms of side missions. But yeah, if you're gonna gimp Kat's gravity powers then make her ground controls more fluid.

Yeah that's what I'm going do, luckily there's a few around me that sell used games at really cheap prices. A bonus of living in NYC I guess.
>>380466609
Yeah, I genuinely enjoyed it, but with everything good they brought over from the first game I feel like there was more chaff mixed in with the stealth sections and needle-in-a-haystack style of scavenger hunts.

Only time that was an issue for me was the photograph stuff like the paintings or looking for characters that fit a very arbitrary description. Also the scavenger hunts but that was kind of the point of them. Either way, that's all far removed from the main game.

How to unlock 2B costume? I downladed it with the one from PSO2, but 2B's one is not avalaible in game.
It's the same as the first, but better in every way.
I fell in love with the first game and had many expectations and hopes for 2 and it lived up to all of them.
>>380492832
Camera's only worse in cramped spaces and to be fair GR2 does make the mistake of putting Kat in cramped locations more often than it should. But GR1 is just as bad when it happens there too. As for 30 FPS, it is what it is. GR was originally 30 but bumped up to 60 when put on a console, fair considering that it's a touched up handheld game I suppose. I get why the discrepancy is there, at least.
>>380493240
Yeah, I've heard you were a huge fan of the firstback on vitagen.
>>380492832
Camera isn't all that bad, and not like a 30fps game can't be enjoyable.
The only objectively worse things about 2 over the 1st are that it is 30 fps and the camera is waaaay worse.
I also feel like the gravity mechanics are far more sloppy, like you could be walking upside down but then the camera will spaz out and the angle of your gravity will change and you'll fall off. It just has a lot less polish than the first game, or at least they didn't polish the mechanics to deal with the higher amount of polygons and geometry or the structures you can walk on.
>>380494328
I'd disagree about the gravity controls. They felt just as good, if not better in some ways.
Now in the demo before the game came out, holy hell did Kat feel like her feet were attached to greased up rollerskates covered in butter and lube. Trying to steer her fat butt felt near impossible in that compared to the retail game.
>>380494328
I think interactivity was impacted by your gravity style - lunar was so touchy that you could walk up a lamppost while jupiter just crashed through everything and had pretty much no give in regards to terrain changes.
>>380494650
>you will never try to steer Kat's fat butt

>>380495198
Kind of wish she had a butt attack like so many other game girls who are usually more well known for their tushies. And given how she's more prone to kicks and whatnot, a butt/hip smack seems like something she'd do.

>>380477916
Well, the game was created by the same dude that made Silent Hill and Siren, the whole GR lore is depressing and twisted as fuck.
some of the side quests in 2 is just awful. to many sneak missions and not enough get to fuck shit up missions.
What should the next collab be?
>>380503368
Fucking shit up has never been GR's strong suit either. Honestly, I'd say its strength is the sheer joy and freedom of movement which can admittedly be hard to translate into a dedicated mission. GR pulls it off on occasion like with gravity slide races or missions where you're chasing something but overall it's such an abstract concept that pinning it down like that is difficult. But man, it's hard to say many games explore the use of 3D space like Gravity Rush does, and it feels like a concept that previous gens couldn't have done proper justice.
>>380503368
I just thought it was a shame that with all the extra time they had for side-content they focused on a lot of sidequests that didn't really tie back into things I wanted to see more of from the first game.
Like backstory for Yunica and the military characters. Or another scavenger hunt with the two missing scientists. Or a follow-up to the DLC side-quest characters that Kat implied that she would see again someday.

I can't lie to myself anymore, I'm definitely trudging through this game. After every story mission like 4 side quests get unlocked and it's all just these missions that barely have anything to do with using her powers. I wanted to finish this after beating P5 which had me engaged from start to finish but this just isn't as enticing to play as the first game because at least that didn't overstay it's welcome.
>>380510182
The ground shakes when she runs so very likely heavier.
>>380510354
Just do the ones that give you extra costumes.
>>380510049

>>380510354
it's really weird how that works. I loved GR2 from start to finish, had no problems sticking with it for the plat and even then I still boot it up every once in a while because it's fun. But on the flipside, I cannot for the life of me muster up any excitement for Breath of the Wild and I'm a bigger Zelda fan than GR fan. To me, that game is tedious as all hell, can't play it for more than a couple hours at a time and even then I'm forcing myself to do it. I think I'd rather just play with gravity mechanics and movement if you're gonna drop me in a huge open world, I dunno.
