Ace Combat thread?

With all the talk here about AC7, I've decided to try this series for the first time. I played 4, 5, and Zero.

4 - Was good.
5 - Was awesome! Very pleasantly surprised.
Zero - Was surprisingly just okay, not sure how this is some people's favorite. Game had no mission variety, was really short, made no real improvements from 5, and had a pretty boring story. The missions they had were still good to play, but as a complete game that should at least modestly improve the series, I think it's the worst of the three people keep recommending.

Any of the other games I should play? I am now one of the people hyped for AC7.
