>Keiji Inafune's Comcept, the studio behind Mighty No. 9 and Red Ash, has been acquired by Level-5, according to this week's Famitsu. Rechristened as "Level-5 Comcept", the new subsidiary will work directly with Level-5 president Akihiro Hino to develop new games, combining the philosophies of both companies.
>Keiji Inafune says Comcept - in its current form - will close down. However, the company will continue its responsibility to develop a title currently in production (not specified but presumably Red Ash). Their first game as Level-5 Comcept is scheduled to debut in 2018, a mobile RPG called Dragon Colonies. The game will feature player vs. player gameplay set in a world with various races and gigantic beasts.

Interview with Akihiro Hino, President of Level-5 and Keiji Inafune
http://blog.esuteru.com/archives/20014836.html
>Since we worked together in "GUILD 02", there was a story that I wanted to do something together
>Inafune: "From the time I was in Capcom, there was a desire to be like Mr Hino."
>"LEVEL 5 comcept" is a company in which each other's feelings became one (?)
>Based on the staff of comcept, the new company will get involved with President Hino
>Although comcept is scheduled to close in the future, it will take responsibility to the title which is currently working to the end.
>Becomes a subsidiary of Level-5. Instead of handling instructions and handling the titles, the idea is that the comcept team and Hino will be making games together
>Osaka is the base. In the future they would like it to be Level-5's Osaka studio.
>Now it is about 15 people, mainly comcept members, but want to increase more and more in the future
>"Dragon Colonies", will be released in 2018
Is he next?
I just hope this could mean that the next mighty no. 9 will have only shotas in it
This got buried in all the E3 news. I suspect that was intentional.
Inafune got a life preserver, that's for sure. Probably sold his company cheap, and to a friend. The Level 5-Comcept new name allows him to save face. But make no mistake, he's just an employee now. He used to be a CEO and supposedly left Capcom to avoid their shackles.

He will now try to take over Level 5
I've said it before. Level-5 isn't that great of a company. I genuinely only enjoyed their layton franchise. And even then the modern layton games have all disappointed. That shitty dungeon crawler/city builder game is dated as fuck. That soccer game is shallow as fuck. What else do they have?
>>380456430
They made Dragon Quest VIII, aka the best one. They also have Yokai Watch.
>>380456430
The snack world which is a scam to sell miniature plastic swords/shields
DQ9 was their highlight
>>380456542
>Yokai Watch.
Plays itself and is for literal toddlers. You putting that in the same sentence as Dragon Quest makes me doubt your tastes.
>>380456430
>What else do they have?
Well, they have Keiji Inafune, the father of Mega man, Onimusha, Resident Evil, Metroid Prime, and Monster Hunter.
>>380456542
Go away 5-8fag
Best DQ are 3, 9 and 10
>>380456681
When's 10 English release?
>>380456625
You asked what else they have. Taste doesn't even factor into my answer in that regard. Not to mention that it's not the same sentence.
>>380456838
Never, Ive been playing the PC version for like 2 years now.
Its an incredible game
>>380453826
legit question. a chinese company became the publisher for Red Ash, so they can also publish it on thier chinese console Fuze. so what will happen now???
>>380457127
I would have imagined that they would have covered Red Ash in these news stories. That they didn't, is further proof it's never happening.
>>380456907
It's a shit MMO.
