I don't know anon, but why not just use the second DVI port on the first card? Do you have three DVI only monitors or something? I have four hooked up to my GPU, three monitors and a TV. Two of my screens are DVI, one is Display Port and my television is HDMI.

Yeah. Admittedly, I've never used SLI, but I hear so many problems and I just upgrade my GPU anyway because the VRAM doesn't combine.
Like, I had a GTX 760 2 GB at first and then I got a 970 4GB after thinking "surely this will be future proof RAM" and now 8 GB is the standard or some shit. I wish I just built a smaller, cuter computer instead of this monster with three PCI-E slots, two of which will always be empty.

Um, no. I'm currently doing 2560x1440@120Hz on my korean monitor over DVI dual-link.
