How would you make a good crafting system for vidya games?
I quite the Atelier/UO crafting systems, but 2000 materials, quality, traits, order, value, effect and color might be a bit too much for the average player.

No 'make 5 parts to make an Y' nothing puts people off more than having multiple parts even if it isn't that complicated
Collecting rare materials requires you to actually get out there and do challenging things making it feel valuable over just a shitty drop rate system
