The game is not that bad but the latest balance patch broke more things than it fixed.
The biggest issue is that most games are decided at the 5-7 minute mark. There are virtually no comebacks. Unless both players/teams are on a completely equal level the games will be over VERY quickly.

And if you are in this for the campaign don't even bother. It's complete dogshit in every way possible.

The campaign is a glorified tutorial. And it is terrible on every front. The story sucks, the characters are boring, the voice acting is dull, it's too easy even on hard and it shits on both the wh40k lore and the dawn of war lore. SS campaign will seem like Hamlet in comparison.

People say its casual but by combining traditional RTS with MOBA level heroes it has really high APM requirement (some like this some hate this).
Some really good designs (like Ork faction) are overshadowed by bad designs (bubble cover and map design).
I would rather wait for price drops or expansion.

Dow2 has far superior design to 1 but you need to keep playing 1vs1 MP for long enough to realize this.

That depends if by army they mean number of models or number of max armies.

Playing DoW3 MP I never reached pop cap but there are fewer models per squad.
I think they did this for pathfinding issues (DoW1 had horrible clusterfucks when moving) but it greatly reduced time to kill a single squad, especially by hero abilities that once again are not limited by resource and only cooldown (DoW2 fixed this by adding energy) leading to massive ability spam once heroes hit battlefield.

It fails on EVERYTHING.
It's actually more boring than playing the skirmish maps on the DC/SS campaigns.
I can dig the MP even if it has only one (really strange) game mode but the campaign is so disappointing it alone turned away most of the people from this game. Playing it you won't even want to give the MP a chance.

There are more people playing Soulstorm, Retribution, and even motherfucking Age of Empires 3 than there are people playing Dawn of War 3 right now. If that alone doesn't tell you how much of a failure this game is then nothing else will.

Well, on June 20th they are apparently putting out a patch that resolves 60% of my problems with a game I already like. So once that's out and cracked for you, then yes. Definitely yes.

I'm actually pretty hyped right now. Only things I'll be missing after that is Last Stand mode and IG. Once all that's in, 99% of my problems with DoW3 will be resolved.

Neat, that's actually a huge step forwards and a MUCH needed one. Now nobody will ever play that power core mode anymore. Honestly Company of Heroes 2 also had a pretty horrible first few months post release, but in these past 5 years Relic made it into a worthy successor to the first game, so I haven't ruled out the possibility that the same could happen to Dawn of War 3 yet.
