I didnt think the Wii trilogy was bad. The motion controls are fairly fluid and not too annoying.

The only thing I noticed was that Prime 1 and 2 seemed much easier. I dont know if thats because im much older since I last played it or not, but other than that I think the Wii trilogy is pretty good.

Normal mode in Trilogy is actually an easy mode (previously exclusive for Japan for the individual games)
Veteran mode IS the normal mode of the Gamecube Version.

And then there is the Hyper mode (same than the hyper mode of Prime 3 in the solo game), that is a new harder mode than the GC version of Prime 1 and 2, exclusive to trilogy.

There's also the fact that with the Wii controls being much more fluid and allowing for independent aiming and moving, as well as the ability to lead shots and fire homing missiles from behind cover, take away some difficulty. They're still an improvement though and I'll choose the Wii versions every day of the week.

How well does the Steam Controller work in Dolphin? It has superior Gyro I bet I would make the Wii controls of the trilogy not suck ass.

IMHO the best way to play it are either on the OG Gamecube or emulated with proper motion controls. The trilogy is fucked, as you can see in >>380330274 it's just slightly more convenient.

It's available on the virtual console for the Wii U, but it's definitelly not the best plaftform to play the game.

It's on of the few game I advice to play on the DS, as it was compatible with the rumble pack and used it to play basses.

Just recently played that on WiiU. Controls are just fine on WiiMote. The backtracking hasn't aged too well, so be advised. Great games though.

The first two are very balanced towards the NGC controller. With the Wiimote they become way too easy, but it's fun to play.
As you are going to play 3 with the wiimote it would be good to play the other 2 that way.
