Where does the story go in 4?

Planet Phaaze blew up. 'Metroid Prime' (aka Dark Samus) is dead. The trilogy held both Phazon and the titular villain at its core through the trilogy and now both are removed.

The only way I could see it is another Phazon meteor crashed into another planet held by the Chozo / Space Pirates that had surviving Metroids on it and corrupted another Metroid into a Prime 2.0, but IIRC all phazon throughout the universe should be nullified with Phaaze's destruction

What gimmicks? Aiming with the remote worked well both in 3 and the trilogy remasters, and swinging the nunchuck to latch the grapple beam felt perfect. For the most part 3 was a pretty straight forward Metroid Prime game with a bit more locations and larger focus on exposition.
