Fact aside that this years E3 was the weakest in years when it comes to actual games. There also hasn't been any entertaining meme-bullshit this year, because everyone just showed trailer after trailer without doing an actual on-stage show.
There was nothing remotely on the level of mister caffeine, aisha tyler cringe, peggle 2 jump, shaking unravel man, and don't let me get started on the calibers of the goldmine that was konami 2010 or 599 US Dollars. You can deny it all you want, but a good amount of E3 enjoyment comes from that shit, too.
There is not a single funny thread I've seen so far about anything happening there. The only slip-up I've noticed is that youtuber who presented need for speed.
What's up with this years E3? Why is it so barren and boring?

The last two years were exceptional, they had shit like FF 7 Remake, TLG, BotW, KH3 etc. Those are all HUGE and hype.
This year there's nothing like that with the exception of BG&E2. Which isn't surprising, there's no way that the pacing of such huge and hype games every year could be kept up.
You remove those, and you just get okay presentations with games that people already know about or aren't going to send the entire viewing audience wild.
This E3 was a series of "okay" conferences. Few were offensive, the worst was Bethesda and even it had highlights. But with the exception of BG&E2 and MAYBE Monster Hunter World nothing feels like HUGE new shit that tons of people wanted.
