1. The sales will be about equal overall to MHXX Switch. It will sell less than XX in Japan, but it will sell more than XX in the west due to marketing and west appeal.
2. The next Monster Hunter game is being made for Switch exclusively, and will be announced at some point in early to mid 2018 for a late 2018 / early 2019 release.
3. It will outsell World by 5 to 1 in Japan, and 2 to 1 globally.

The Switch doesn't have this benefit. It has BOTW and right now, that's it.

If someone is waiting to be picked for the literal Switch lotteries being held due to hardware shortages and probably because of Yakuza scalping, this announcement of Monster Hunter for PS4 could sway them.

It sold less than a handheld which, at the time of 3U's release, had an install base of a quarter what it had.

Monster Hunter got as popular as it did because people like to play it on their work commute, since you can pick a hunt that lasts just as long as your commute and even have the potential to play with other people on the train if there are any (it's why local handheld MP is so big in Japan). That is what got MH as crazy popular as it has gotten, yet people just think "oh they'll buy it no matter what it's on lol" which is complete bullshit.

Pretty much. I own both a PS4 and a Switch and call out both for their problems. From my experience, Sony fans are generally more reasonable, Nintendo fans are childish and immature.

Just buy it. MHFU is the best game ever. The story is really forgotten, it's a game based around gameplay. The main story is like 100 hours long if you play for the first time without rushing. And the guild quests are even longer and harder.

If Nintendo announces a cool new Switch game tomorrow, or god forbid two new Switch games, then you're going to get about 30 threads pop up instantly about how bad it looks and how it'll sell -399 copies.
