Will the Witcher 3 go down in history as the last truly great video game ?
It would have to be good first.

with all these political agendas these companies have going on, yeah, i guess so...
Unironically yes
>>380216197
any hope for Cyberpunk?

I don't get the *witcher 3 is bad* meme. It's better than a lot of other RPG's, you know that, and yet you perpetuate your saltiness out of jealousy. gtfo of /v/

it's a weeb thing
As mich as I enjoyed it I must admit that the gameplay in itself was below Ubisoft tier.
I mean it's beautiful, it scratches an itch and it's still a good AAA title to me, but...
when they turned it into AssCreed with le do everything but it all sucks philosophy? no Witcher 2 if anything, also Civ 6 is better than Witcher 3
I love Witcher 3 and all, but nah. How can it be the last great game when it wasn't even 2015 GOTY?
>>380216197
Only until Witcher 4.

did you like sony's conference this year
D44M was only a year ago
Played it this week after not touching a single video game in basically 3/4 years because of a friend's recommendation.
Almost restored my faith in the medium, but then I realized it's just a single gem in a sea of crap.

Did anyone?
At this pace Ciri will surely good down as the last good waifu

I don't get why people love it so much. It looked pretty good and the a lot of the quests had some interesting stories, but the gameplay wasn't that great. Combat was super simple and unsatisfying, monster hunting was "follow these tracks" with little variance, and the game-world itself wasn't super interesting once you reached Novgorod. DLCs were pretty top tier though.
But BOTW came put after Witcher 3
ITT: A hard reminder on that the most dogshit nostalgia fag and whiner threads always come out during E3
Modded (PC) Witcher 3 final review:
Combat: 7/10
Overall Gameplay: 8/10
Storytelling: 9.5/10
Characters:10/10
Lore&World: 9/10
Music: 10/10
Visuals: 10/10
Final score: 63.5/70

Combat was average/above average for the genre.
Compare to skyrim and it blows it the fuck out.
The only sub-par thing was moving small distances which was tied to realistic looking animations instead of something really gamified and responsive.

waifu score?

But it wasn't a great video game. It was pretty meh, in my opinion. Gwent was good, though. I'm really glad that they decided to drop the open world minigame and just give us Gwent.

I still haven't beaten it. It's far too cynical for me.
>>380218601
Reminded me of Skyrim. Like a lot. I'll grant that there were improvements, but at its core it felt a lot like Skyrim to me. Not that Skyrim is bad, but I've never considered it all that great.

No fuck you, the games was shit. I hate that overrated piece of garbage. It's just too popular REEEEEEE

Im really really looking forward to cyberpunk, it might be shit but atleast I have all these bethesda titles in vr (and payday 2) coming soon
>>380224017
... to keep me occupied because cyberpunk is never coming out
>>380224017
i just hope the usual suspects haven't wormed their way into CDPR and managed to shit up everything
The one thing that ruins the immersion for me is Geralt's OPness. I would have loved it even more if there were 10 times less monsters, and each 10 times as strong, with oil/potion/bomb crafting mandatory to even dent them (except for drowners).
Witchers are superhuman but aren't actually THAT strong, when compared to monsters.
I also wish Geralt could avoid killing each random thug he meets. Makes him look like an hypocrite in more than a few scenes.
