I haven't browsed /v/ since 2011, last E3 I watched was that year as well. Back then all I had was a shitty Pentium E machine, a GameCube and a 360
I never worried about the future of gaming because there were so many good exclusives for all those systems as well as a healthy pc market. I died a little after 2011, Reach Beta came out, it was the terrible predicessor to all the COD gameplay that is now played out. Halo died, Runescape died, WoW leaking subs...
Everything I loved was slowly dying. Then I built my PC in 2013. I thought I broke the cycle but PC gaming seems to be taking a backseat. Games are shit on all platforms, indie games are viable experiences now. The new normal is black female protagonist killing whitey in all his maculine and pale form.
Gaming is dead.

the thing is that when I look out into the realm of general normiedom gaming, that's all there is! Where are the core players? I've literally been playing nothing but Total War Warhammer and Overwatch and nothing else gets me anymore.
Not hyped for Bioware anymore, EA shovels dog shit, Bethesda casualized the only good western RPG and Sony hasn't made a good game since FF9. We get one good IP (souls) and then it gets beaten to death by normies who turn it to shit.

How is your memory this short? CoD clones are dead, Call of Duty doesn't even have regen health anymore, Gears clones are essentially dead, every E3 doesn't start with 10 minutes of CoD anymore.
The shooter they gave the most screentime to was a fucking METRO game, which was a niche Europoor game nobody cared about.
Compare to the dancing, kinect, Star Wars, sports, TV TV TV, celebrity cameo normie shitfests from previous years.
